Great to see our founder Jens-Ole Bock speaking at this week's CRISPR Gene Editing Hands-on Workshop at University of Lagos - an important reminder that the future of gene editing depends on building capacity everywhere, not just where the field started.

"Earlier this week I had the pleasure to speak at the virtual opening session of the annual CRISPR Gene Editing Hands-on Workshop at University of Lagos - organised and facilitated by Prof. Joseph Minari.

Africa is home to the youngest population on earth, and to some of the greatest needs CRISPR technology can help address - from vector-borne diseases and genetic disorders to agriculture challenges.

It is extremely important to educate early, build local capacity, and close the accessibility gap, so Africa moves from consumer to co-creator.

I believe that is the future worth working toward: a field Africa shapes, not just follows." said Jens-Ole Bock, Founder, CMN.
