Cardea Bio is a private, chip-based company focused on the development of its CRISPR-Chip technology as a diagnostics tool within genomes. The chip is based on deactivated Cas9 (dCas9), and the underlying principle is that it can be used to search a genome without cutting DNA. By doing this, Cardea can search for specific sites within genomes, and generate reads based on output from the chips' graphene transistor. Essentially, the company wants to create a technology wherein you can "Google a genome".
