CRISPR Tsunami - gRNA Design Course
CRISPR Tsunami is a 1-day introductory course to computational Cas9-gRNA design. The course is designed for Master’s/PhD students and researchers who are interested in the CRISPR/Cas9 genome editing tool and would like to apply it in their experiments, but have little or no experience in designing efficient and specific gRNAs (the variable component in the system).
The course will begin with an introduction on the CRISPR/Cas9 tool and the importance of gRNA design. Methods and tools to design gRNAs for different applications (gene knockout, knockin, base editing…) will also be covered in the introduction. The recent techniques for the massive generation of CRISPR/Cas9 activity data and for the computational prediction of gRNA activity via machine learning and heuristic approaches will be the focus of the morning lectures.
In the afternoon, some of the tools presented will be employed during gRNA design exercises. Attendees are welcome to bring their own data/study case and design their own gRNAs.
The course, including the hands-on session, is free of charge.
You can sign up for morning lectures 9-12 only, or both morning lectures and afternoon hands-on session 9-16:30 (limited seats).
