Job type

Full time

Are you looking to join a rapidly growing genetic engineering company that is generating revenue? ExpressCells speeds drug discovery and biological research by producing genetically-edited cell lines for biological researchers. We are looking for a team-oriented, enthusiastic bench scientist with microbiology and cell culture experience. Our innovative process, using CRISPR plus our patented FAST-HDR plasmid system, creates custom knock-in cell lines more quickly than current technology and allows multiple knock-ins into the same cell line. We also create cell lines that overexpress proteins or have point mutations. Most of our work is for commercial customers, but there may be opportunities to work on developmental projects. We are moving into a larger production facility in April 2022 and are seeking a team member to help us grow.

Position Description
This role’s primary responsibility is to produce genetically-edited cell lines. This employee is an accomplished scientist with experience in all steps of gene editing and mammalian cell culturing. This employee will be able to build plasmids, use CRISPR to cut into a cell’s genome, transfect and culture cells, confirm the results of the transfection process, and ensure a homogeneous cell line. This person will have the skills to operate independently in a shared laboratory space. While most of this employee’s time will be spent on production for commercial customers, there may be opportunities to work on developmental projects. This employee may also manage standard lab functions, which include documentation, ordering supplies, and shipping products.
